Thank you, dakanga.

Now, how do you create tables, like you did in this post?
Is there a post, on this site, describing how to do so? (My searches for such a post were unsuccessful.)
I tried using the method that works on the soon to be gone Duolingo forums, but was unsuccessful.

I'm putting one such attempt below.

Code meant to create said table:

|left aligned|centered|right aligned|
|:-|:|-:|
|row 1|row 1|row 1|
| row 2 | row 2 | row 2 |
|row 3|row 3|row 3|

The supposed "table":

|left aligned|centered|right aligned|
|:-|:|-:|
|row 1|row 1|row 1|
| row 2 | row 2 | row 2 |
|row 3|row 3|row 3|

Anglo-American (English): Native // Français (French): Intermediate // Deutsch (German): Beginner

I have made this for you : viewtopic.php?t=2130

See down the bottom for more information on tables.

edited:

Tables

Input - Simple pipe table

|Header a|Header b|Header c|
|-|-|-|
|row 1 a|row 1 b|row 1 c|
|row 2 a|row 2 b|row 2 c|

Result - Simple pipe table

Header aHeader bHeader c
row 1 arow 1 brow 1 c
row 2 arow 2 brow 2 c

NOTE:

  • The second line of the table must have NO spaces between the "pipes/horizontal column marker": |
  • It is optional to add pipes at the beginning and the end of the line/row
  • For the "column alignment/second line of the table" : you seem to be able to use either - or : or combinaltions such as :- :-: -: , etc.
However these do not change the alignment in the columns.
  • With using pipes to create a table, in the version/flavor of markdown used in these forums it is not possible to align columns to be centred, or to the right.
  • If you use a pipe at the end there needs to be no leading spaces after the last pipe.
  • For links, there must be NO spaces in the bracket side of the link : ( )
In the Duolingo forums you could have spaces in the brackets. But not so here.

Table with column alignment controls

Please take time to read : viewtopic.php?p=6774#p6774 on tables by eI000yo.
This shows how you can control the alignment in tables.
