Alignment to new path

Post by luciennet »

Wondering if there will be changes to duome to reflect changes to the tree/path?

  • Path gets people to level up to 3 skill levels, can no longer get a L1 tree, so estimate to completion should change.

With practice and stories baked in, may affect estimates too.

Is there different data to be pulled out, or mismatch in display?

Turning a unit legendary on new path doesn’t show up in duome because it is now L3 + legendary vs L5 + legendary

Is there any way to break down the clumped data (checkpoints, practice, stories, match madness, ramp up, mini games etc)? Some of these are now baked in and have to do them, others optional.

Different views to see skills versus path “units” completed

Be nice to see it mapped to CEFR language levels (A1, A2, B1, B2) etc

Duolingo provides detailed information but it's only available when you're authorized with your login and password, otherwise duome can only see the old srtructure. The workaround could be mapping existing skills to the new layout and "recalculating" the new path progress, but this would not include about half of the steps of the new path (some steps are cumulative practice sessions that don't correspond to any specific single skill).

So, it would be a copy of the new path, with some steps being colored (when possible) and some other steps being semi-transparent forever, or until duolingo provides more data.
