El aire acondicionado

Post by gscottoliver »

I’m working on the At Home skill on Duolingo, and there are some sentences that talk about paying for the air conditioning. In the USA, that’s just part of the electric power bill. Is it separate in some hispanohablante nations? Or only in the Duolingo universe? ;)

In Spain, air conditioning is part of the electricity bill. The problem is that it consumes a lot of energy and not everyone can afford it nowadays. The high demand during the summer months and the reduction in gas supplies from Russia have driven the prices up.

People really love to go to shopping malls because they can enjoy the AC for free
