annoying icon thingy and flash card speaking glich app only

The latest annoying thing/things about DL app on my tablet...(just venting)

1. It keeps changing my icon choice. I do a lesson and I get a glitch owl and it requires me to click fix, then it changes my icon for DL to that owl. I don't want that owl, I want my streak owl, so now I have to go into my streak each time and change it back before I exit out. It's a pain but I can't make it stop.

2. Also, another app glitch, the flash cards, when I say the word (and I know I am saying it correctly because I am doing English from Spanish duh) it won't accept it and tells me I am wrong. It also happens in the Spanish to English, but I am 98% sure I am saying it right! I am not sure why this is the case but it is so annoying! I find myself screaming at my tablet and still getting the word wrong, seriously?

Like I said, just venting because I am positive nothing will change these issues...except maybe for time.

I have found the flash cards less tolerant than the regular speaking exercises. But, then again, the regular exercises have a reputation for accepting anything close. Im not confident enough to insist Im saying it right but they don't seem to drain the energy as much as I feared so I just put up with them and persevere

I agree that the changing icons thing is annoying.
I've gotten the flash cards a few times, don't love them.

What's a shortcut? Is that an app? Keep in mind I'm a boomer so "shortcuts" doesn't mean anything more to me than reducing the time it takes to do something or go somewhere. LOL Sorry, but thanks for the hint.

I am fairly sure it won't work because this change is in the program of DL. As you do a lesson and you finish you get the wonky owl and the only choice once it's fixed is to accept the icon change, there is no other choice. Then if I don't want that I have to go into my streak to change it back, I am doing this now everyday. It's so annoying and I don't think anything can be done as the PTB at DL have now made this new edict and we must all obey. LOL

UPDATE on the glich:

Okay the icon thing stopped being a problem as I think it fixed itself, but now the next annoying issue...there is always something! I get triple points sometimes and then this happens. I try to use them and one lesson will be fine, but then when I try to do the next lesson DL runs out the clock. I get 10 minutes to use the points and as far as I know its for the full 10 minutes! However, after doing one lesson then DL refuses to load the next lesson until the clock runs out. What's the dang point of giving me 10 minutes if you don't really mean it???

After doing this I realized that it can't be possible for these people to rack up such high daily XPs, impossible! This weekend I needed to earn 700 XPs over 2 days, I could have done it in 10 minutes if my triple points had been real, but instead I was only able to do 350 one day and the balance the next. Hmmm, just sharing.

Chat GPT said something about changing the icon by going to the streak bit, but I've looked there and cant find a way to change the broken icon

I have found that trick and it is under the streak icon, you click and it will give you a choice but maybe only if you have a choices which I do. Not sure.
