  • Caneca = mug
  • Copo = glass (water, juice)
  • Taça = glass (wine)

I struggle with the false friends here. In Spanish "copa" is "taça" and "taza" is "xícara". :(
Same problem with "garrafa". :(

It's a very interesting exercise to compare the romance languages and see how they evolved differently throughout the time. I'm not completely sure but I think there are only two words in French: tasse (xicara, caneca) and verre (copo, taça). Can you confirm that?
