Hello, Its been while I was not using this account , I suddently started using after few days of using it says "too many requests" and in mobile it won't even login my username is OmgAvy this account is very old please help otherwise my all the progress will be lost : (
and the duolingo team is also not responding in my mail.

We are a volunteer community passionate about learning and supporting our community.

It is getting late into my night here where I am in this world.

Use a Pc and desktop browser like Firefox.

Open the Web console, check for yellow and red error messages.
Open the Developer tools (F12 hotkey).

Many times the mobile apps are too buggy.
On Android (Oreo 8.1.) several DL app versions denied me the login and staff hardly was able to fix it (only temporary, login bug was back with the next version I tried).
I don't have issues with the login on V5.73.2 but haven't logged out since a while.

If your account is locked out ("too many requests & Co.) it might be temporarily.

Make sure that no bot scripts or weird Tampermonkey userscripts or extensions are installed.
Try to disable everything.
Make sure to update "uBlock Origin" filter rules.

Maybe try with a clear browser profile on a different Windows account or create a second one from scratch (with a different user directory for storage).

Unfortunately we can't do anything here. Most likely no people from DL staff is reading this forum.
Have you tried the SUPER support? You can try its social media as well.

Just try it again, and try, and try... The same happened to me (web version) in the evenings. Only in the evenings. First, I thought, I misspelled my password. But after several careful typing, it still was the same (wrong) message that I would have no account. But I do have! So, I tried it again after a little time and then it worked.
I think it has something to do with traffic jam because too much requests. So just try it again in a few minutes. Otherwise, contact DL staff via social media. They resetted some streaks already.

I can’t log into my Duolingo account and I have contacted support , twitter,, threads instagram and Facebook . Still no response . My streak of 1778 is broken now and I can’t reset my password as it says no Duolingo account in that email address

What device? Web? Ios? Android?
Is the mobile app still logged in?

Are you a Super/Nax subscriber?

Almost sounds like someone hacked in, changed your username/password and email address?!?

My device is iOS and I tried 3 desktops and it gives error 500. I have no idea what is happening

Obviously you have been using a different (2nd/3rd/duplicate) Duolingo account with a different name.

It exists but has no streak and data logged:

Try to find old emails from Duolingo which they sent you to your inbox where maybe the name and profile was included in the HTML text.

It's a different one then.
The one above (you had in your Duome profile) exactly has 0 friends.

Happens (or let's say happened) all the time on the iOS app because it's easier to register as a new user than to login into an old account.

I think developers changed something in the app code so you don't first have to first select the user profile anymlfd to find the related button and to do a login into an existing account, rather than how complicated it was before.
But that iOS app change should be available since a longer time by now.

Something is messed up with duplicate accounts, different login methods, confusing usernames, changed email address (in the Duolingo profile), etc.

Getting hacked, especially as a paying user, is not a very new Duolingo symptom.
A lot of DL accounts are getting compromised.

Maybe change your password(s), change your email account password if it got compromised or you used the same for everything, check if you have been PWNED,..

I had over 500 follower, 1778 day streak , 1000 friends . I just don’t know what to do . Duolingo hasn’t contacted me

There seems to be a few people here with a similar problem. The common denominator would appear to be duolingo. Specially the"too many requests" error message. Could it be a denial of service attack on duolingo?

Edit: is it still happening? I just tried my regular browser log in and, after a struggle to get past the "register" page I managed to do a fresh log in using a new browser. Both got me in no problem. So, if it was duo, perhaps it's fixed.

Another Edit:

I tried looking at the Duome.Eu record for OmgAvy and it isn't showing anything. Could be because it's set to "private" or could be because it doesn't exist.

Did you pay for duo? If you did, they really are obliged to sort it out.

Did you correctly select the right category in the web form?
It's called "I cannot access my account".

Sounds like you were able to access your previous account from the apps (still being logged in) and you found out that the email address got changed.

The wrong account from above seems to have updated on Duome 0->1 day streak, 0 friends).

AFAIK there might be some issues to force a logout on ALL foreign sessions.
People said they're changing the account data, back to the original username, new password.... but the hacker/ foreign account user is simply getting back into their (changed back) account as their app keeps holding a valid login session.

Maybe DL staff has more options internally in their admin tool.

We haven't had a too many requests issue for about a year now.

It must be some kind of privacy setting like participation in leagues which may affect account visibility.

What I find weird about this account is that it was created on April 20, 2023 and it cannot have had such a long streak - it couldn't be acheived earlier than March 13, 2028 - it's not necessarily Leanne's fault though, because (as far as I understand) duolingo can accidentally double your streak in some circumstances - probably when you use a streak restore feature - I thought they fixed this issue but who knows.

Out of about half a million accounts duome knows there are roughly 200 impossible streaks like this one.
