To post an image, use this code :
![](URL link for image)
Optional Text
!["hover text"](URL link for image)
Recommendation: include "hover text", to assist those with vision impairment, or for slow internet, or the region/country they are in blocks the reference for the image. It is not necessary to include "hover text", just a nice thing to do.
Here are a few url links I have prepared for you. By copying the text highlighted in yellow into your posts, it will show these images.

You can post links to other images from the internet - by referring to the URL address of the image. Ensure you include the image extension. ie. .png, .jpg, .gif, etc. Not all image formats are supported in Duolingo Markdown code. If your image is not produced, then either you have a fault with your link, or have selected an image format not supported in Duolingo discussions.
How to find images others have posted on the internet.
i.e. in google:
![Google Search for Duolingo Images](
Search for an image you are after, and remember to select the option for Images.
How do you get a published image URL ?
- Locate the image you want.
- Right-click the image.
Depending on what system you’re using, select the image URL by clicking one of these:- Chrome: Copy image address
- Safari: Copy image address
- Internet Explorer: Properties and then Copy the URL address shown
- Firefox: Copy image location
Then, copy that URL link to the image into your code: ![](URL link for image)
