Napisałem podobny komentarz w dyskusji do zdania "Śpimy w nocy" = We sleep at night. Dzisiaj dostrzegłem, że wątpliwości, które tam się pojawiły, występują znacznie częściej. Stąd:

  • O świcie/o brzasku = at dawn

  • Rano/rankiem = in the morning

  • W południe = at noon/at midday

  • Po południu = in the afternoon

  • Wieczorem = in the evening

  • O zmierzchu = at dusk

  • W nocy = at night/in the night

  • O północy = at midnight

Jak widać, pory dnia są uporządkowane chronologicznie. Przy czym the są nieodzowne tam, gdzie je napisałem.
