How did the comrades survive the move from the forum?:)

Post by Amlir »

At the moment, as in many other segments, only educational materials are presented here. Communication hasn't started yet. Here I make an attempt).
Where to start:

  • You can once again pour out that the language learning site, does not welcome open communication because of some kind of "loss-making" :geek:

  • You can turn this topic into a simple chatter about everything and nothing, there are no other non-educational topics yet.

  • Or describe your impressions about this forum. Let's say I was very happy with the night mode feature (the crescent moon in the upper right corner).

  • Also here you can continue the topic, that will be interrupted with the deletion of the forum.

  • Those whom I have already met on the forum, can say that they are here, it will be possible to start corresponding.

And so... congratulations on the housewarming or something like that).

Greetings, the situation is still calm, but a surge of enthusiasm is expected after the forum closes. Was it shaking on the train?).

Well, I'm glad that here the forum is well structured, so it's much easier to find a solution. And interaction is welcome, not strictly language related.

No up-/downvotes makes a difference, only a "thank you" button to show appreciation.

Sure, some subforums need more attention, but this forum just started a few weeks ago and already has a lot of inf gathered.

I hope more people start writing posts / replying.

The fundamental difference, at least, in my opinion, is in personal messages. They were sorely missed :) .

I've been thinking....Those, who arrive after deleting the forum, may not find out about this place...I hope that the administration will take care of this, so that the link to this site is not a secret.

Well, passenger games with emergency braking do not lead to anything good :).

Twas a scary ride but we're here. Honestly I prefer these forums. They're more structured.

And, maybe, we can hope, that it won't be closed because of "outrageous unprofitability".

It wasn't a cry of the soul. Just trying to play with the font)

Welcome to the digital world!

I got used to work with different time zones. I'm in Central Europe, so Eastern Europe, Asia, Australia and Oceania are always ahead of me, and the Americas are 'behind' me.

I worked a lot for international companies and back in the 90's setting up a Telco was quite difficult. Or arrange appointments. Once my boss was at a conference in Hawaii, and we had to talk daily on the phone, email wasn't big back then, so he called me after his dinner which means for me right when I arrived at the office.

This is a big problem for me. As luck would have it, I just communicate with those people, who have a diametrically opposite time zone. That is, they are on the other side of the globe).

I can handle it quite well. But I got used to make appointments with noting like this....
4pm CET / 10am EST or whatever time zones were involved.

I'm not into cars, don't have one. Sometimes I rent a car, when necessary, usually when I visit friends who tour Europe.
