INTRODUCTION

The Hindi language uses a non-Latin script. The script is known as the Devanagari script. It is written from left to right. The Devanagari script is used in many Indian languages and the Nepali language. Here are some images of the Devanagari script in different languages.

WRITING IN HINDI

This is a resources page, and here is a list of resources you can use to get familiarised with the Hindi script. Teaching how to write is the difficult task while teaching online, so I will be putting up a list of resources, which I feel will help you learn and master the Hindi script. :) I will be adding more information in my next lesson, which I will be posting this Saturday. :)

http://www.avashy.com/hindiscripttutor.htm
Description: An extremely helpful resource, they have all the letters in the Hindi alphabet beautifully illustrated with the pronunciation, example words to demonstrate their usage (with pronunciation and meaning) and an animation on how to write the letter. I think they have a male and female voice for all the example words, this is going to be helpful! ^_^

Description: I could find just the Vyanjan tutorial in this channel. Here is something I noticed: The letters have been explained very well, and the teacher slows down so that it is easy for the learners to write the letter easily and correctly. She speaks in Hindi (sorry about that, it is difficult to get videos that explain the Hindi concepts correctly and in a lucid manner in English). It shouldn't be much of a problem, though. The words that she uses are not at all related to learning the script, anyway, you will be learning these words very soon.:) How about waiting till then and working on writing these letters? :)

**Description: **A very helpful resource, this Memrise course teaches all the letters in the Hindi alphabet, plus some extra letters which I thought to introduce while teaching you the lessons. I strongly recommend this course as it uses the repetition method to help learn the letters. Now, is there anything better than repetition? :)

Description: Another Memrise resource, with details and repetitive approach. :)

Description: For those of you who want to take learning Hindi as a permanent hobby. :) PDF tracing sheets for all the letters in the Hindi alphabet. :)

These are the best resources I could find on the Internet at the moment, resources which are comprehensive and are convenient to practise the Hindi alphabet as a beginner. :) I will keep updating this post with the resources I find which will help learn the Hindi alphabet. :) Because, few resources are never enough.. :)

I am looking forward to reading your comments and suggestions for resources that teach the Hindi alphabet (easily available online). :)
