I stumbled across a few YT videos of Simon Roper on old English.

In an Ecolinguist quiz with some native English speakers and one non-native speaker, it turns out that native speakers have no distinct advantage in understanding old English. (In fact as a Dutch speaker, I guess surprisingly better than the quiz candidates.)
