[FORUM] [RULES] Specific Rules Of Conduct

Post by Basler Biker »

Forum specific rules and guideline

This forum is designed to allow users to share ideas and provide mutual help in correcting translations and understanding vocabulary. All feedback is given voluntarily by users, so please observe these simple guidelines to keep up the good communication style.

BE POLITE
-- Needless to say that the basic principles of politeness do apply. Please treat other users the way you want to be treated!

SEARCH before you post
-- the search possibilites are described in How to search the forums
-- Don't ask a question again if it has been asked and aswered already.

WHERE to post
-- consider in which of the Category subforums your content fits best.
-- Therefore it's best to look at some previous posts there already, and take those as an example and a guide. If not sure, just post under "Swedish from English - General forum"

THE TOPIC TITLE shall cover the content
-- Content, when including the replies, may of of course change during the discussion, and shift into some other direction.
-- But going too-far or completely off-topic will be seen as an infringement to the Forum Rules of Conduct.
-- You may add one of the listed TAGS at the beginning of the Title, and be posted in the correct subforum.

ADD CONTEXT
-- Terms, words and short phrases without a bit more context are very hard to translate or discuss. Almost every word can have a completely different meaning in a different context. Please add a description of the situation or the full sentence to clarify the context!

TRY ON YOUR OWN FIRST

-- Don't let others do your (home-) work!
-- Please consult dictionary sites and/or search engines before asking for help!
-- Posting lengthy texts for others to translate will most likely result in a negative answer or no answer at all. If your posted text includes your own translation attempt, chances of getting help are a lot better. Machine translation (like Babelfish) does not count as your own attempt.

PERSONAL INFORMATION
-- Please don't post personal information (names, addresses, parts of contracts, ...) - this can offend against personality rights of third parties and lead to legal problems.
-- Even if you know the real names of registered users, please always use the usernames to address users in the forum.

LINKS to third party sites, media
-- Neutral, non-biased references in the form of links to other websites are allowed only if those are related to language, learning, education.

SPAM will immediately be removed
Are considered to be SPAM
-- Any content which is not compliant with the duome.eu Terms of Use.
-- Any form of advertisements, i.e. aiming at selling (directly or indirectly)
-- Including those that are solicitations for a business, a product or a service
-- Public relations and Marketing pieces designed to promote a company, a product, or an individual.
-- Repeated trivial questions which have been posted and answered already in the forum
-- Any topic or article which does not comply with the purpose of the Forum as stated in the Welcome page,
-- Any topic or article which cannot be given a place in any other forum according to the purpose of such forum

IP-address TRACKING
-- Your IP-address is identifying your internet connection to duome.eu
-- You shall be aware that you are leaving your IP address when posting an entry, topic, or post, on duome.eu
-- This IP-address can be tracked down to your internet provider who can match it to your identity in the event of a legal problem.

Have fun and thanks for participating!

The beauty of this forum is when you post something on a topic it brings the topic back to the top, so these topics are reusable unlike Duolingo where if you don't quite understand something posting on an old topic on the same subject won't do that.
