In inglese, ci sono diversi modi in cui si può parlare del futuro.
Per esempio
The restaurant will open next week.
The restaurant is going to open next week.
The restaurant will be opening next week.
Tutte e tre queste frasi traducono "Il ristorante aprirà la prossima settimana". Quindi quale frase si dovrebbe usare? Non preoccupatevi, le differenze sono sottili e di solito non importa quale si usa, la gente capirebbe.
Simple future - The restaurant will open next week.
Il simple future si forma con “will” + l’infinito senza il “to”.
I will read the book.
You will drink the water.
He will eat the apple.
We will sleep tonight.
They will leave this afternoon.
Si usa quando si esprimono fatti, le cose che sono probabili.
It will rain in England.
“Going to” - The restaurant is going to open next week.
Si forma con “to be” (I am, you are ecc) + going + l’infinito (to read, to drink ecc).
I am going to read the book.
You are going to drink the water.
He is going to eat the apple.
We are going to sleep tonight.
They are going to leave this afternoon.
Si usa quando si parla di piani o intenzioni.
I am going to watch that new film tomorrow.
Future continuous - The restaurant will be opening next week.
Si forma con il simple future del verbo “to be” + il participio presente (-ing).
I will be reading the book.
You will be drinking the water.
He will be eating the apple.
We will be sleeping tonight.
They will be leaving this afternoon.
Si usa quando si parla di qualcosa che accadrà in futuro e continuerà per un periodo di tempo.
The sun will be shining tomorrow.
