Your duolingo forum registration isn't automaticaly transferred to duome forum so in order to join duome forums you need to register with your existing or any other username and email; in any case it's advised that you choose a new password for the forum.

I "paid" for a "streak freeze" right at the begining but never used it. Then it was aways 2/2 - meaning I could miss two days without losing my streak
But now it says 5/5. Is that a mistake? I have had 6 hearts at times in the past.

It seems to be on the app since the currency is gems.
Maybe 6 months ago, I also received 3 new streak freezes. It doesn’t seem like a mistake, just something new that was added to the app.

Losing a streak, particularly a long one, seems to be very demotivating. I remember reading on forums at Duolingo how people didn't feel like continuing their studies after losing their streaks of a year or more. I'd say that the green owl has wisely decided it is best not to punish users regarding this particular oversight.

The app tells me I can get 3 streak freezes if I attain a 100 day streak, but I’ve never seen (or heard of) having 5 streak freezes.

On my tablet I'm told that I have 5 streak freezes (my streak is recently over 1300). But on my phone I see only 2 streak freezes.
I won't trust the 5, but I have used two at a time sometimes in the last few years.

I just looked at my Duolingo, and it seems I only have 2 streak freezes again. My longest streak was 427 days, but I lost it a little while ago, it would make sense that I have only 2 streak freezes now.
Three extra freezes are awarded for joining the Streak Society.
