I noticed that in the previous case I used the number of "Total members" reported at the bottom of the index page. Since that number must decrease when a user deletes their account (I assume), I am now using the actual "User number."

So for a lot of numbers you can hover over an upvote or look at the top of the profile page to see the number. The newer numbers however you will have to go to the member list and if you hover over a member it will give you the number.

Whenever you hover the mouse pointer over a user name, the browser displays the URL (Internet address) of their Duome profile page. If you click on it, this will become clearer. Just take a look at the webpage address. For example, in your case:

Other forums host podcasts where both users and mods can participate. They talk about the evolution of the site and topics related to the main theme of the forum. They also play games and raffle off books, t-shirts, mugs, and that kind of stuff. But 10,000 is still a small number and organizing a podcast requires a lot of preparation and coordination. Maybe for the 100,000?

Yes, that seems to be the case.

I haven't checked about other range of numbers, but those from id 3 to id 57 are gone. It's a very large continuous interval.

Yes. Something along those lines could be done. Maybe creating a Welcome thread for that user, where each one could post a welcome message with an image or a video

You could create a new 'celebration/announcement' thread and pin it on top. At least for a week.
So everyone will see it.

• a (temporary) sticky/announcement/global topic (i.e. thread) "Welcome to our 10'000 th member <alias here>"
• other duome members can upload a "welcome to the duome community" picture, gif, clip, ...
• other members can send a "mention"

A "sticker" or "medal" add-on to their avatar seems a bit difficult to do.
Something "extra" on their profile (but what?)
A (mod-edited) mention in their signature would be possible - till they change it again

we'd need a nice "fireworks" gif ...maybe a wobbling number 10'000 in 3D, or with some fireworks around it.

One thing is for sure, it will take a long long time till the time comes to celebrate participant number 20K.
