Hi @duome!
I am aware that there is a preview, but sometimes you need a tweak.
Sometimes codes can create "artifacts".
Or just something new needs to be tested.
Thanks a lot, in advance!
Dear anyone,
Your duolingo forum registration isn't automaticaly transferred to duome forum so in order to join duome forums you need to register with your existing or any other username and email; in any case it's advised that you choose a new password for the forum.

Could you add a TEST subforum?
Re: Could you add a TEST subforum?
Does it need a whole subforum? Or could it be a dedicated thread in the troubleshooting section? "Test your posts here" sort of thing? Like the old ghostwheel thread?
But also, reminder that "Preview" and "edit" buttons exist here and are very useful!

What about the preview button? Doesn't that test it enough? It's pretty cool how you can preview things and even save drafts.

Hi @Jenga218!
Hi @Corinnebelle!
Reasons to test a post:
Modern industry tests everything. Even if you have the cutting edge CAD and CAE software, you need to create prototypes.
And after a construction of a bridge, for example, it is texted. It was designed, the ground gauged, the concrete mixed according to strict requirements.
But something unexpected could occur. There are lots of different devices and configurations.
And several browsers. And may be you want to print it out or create a pdf.Test posts are special: they are just interesting to the person that posts them. IMO, a separate subforum is a good idea.
So that other users do not get bothering notifications, for example. We are not in Duolingo. This forum has to be quit different and improve the other one.
Here we have a Random Thoughts subforum and a Achievements subforum.
Reddit has a TEST subforum.
Duolingo's clutter is not good.
Of course, we now have a preview. It is enough to usual posts. But sometimes you will need to create a complex guide and want to see how it is displayed in different conditions before posting it.
And I only ask for it. It is a decision of the admins.
If they create it, cool. If they do not create it, also fine, no problem. I'll continue to think that we are better off here.

it's at the bottom of the list so that people wouldn't stumble upon it too often / too easy
