99...100!

Post by Deleted User 4833 »

Today will be the day I make my 100 day streak.

Haven't done a lesson yet.

Just staring at that 99 at the top of my app. ;)

Although I've been on Duolingo for years, in the past I always broke my streak due to missing days. so I think this will be the first day I actually have a 100 day streak.

Now your name and stats will appear in some of the categories on the duome page ;)

That is, of course, if your profile is public.

Congratulations @JudieLC on your first 100th streak. It's quite an achievement the first 100, once you get there you keep going and just wonder how far you'll get. The further you get the more scared you are to lose it, because it's so long now. Keep up the good work! Here's to 200 if that's your cup of tea, otherwise keep learning because it's what you learn that really counts. A couple of streak freezes sure helps with keeping a streak during stressful times and on the weekend.

That is, of course, if your profile is public.

You will also need to access the Duome page of the account. It is not an automatic process.
Duome is not Duolingo and only reads the Public Extend Profile of the accounts that are submitted to its page. There is no direct connection with the Duolingo Database at all.
More than 3 million accounts have more than a year streak, Duome only has about 280,000 accounts with this amount or more.
See, for example: https://duome.eu/Kade184605 (366 days #282771)

Public or private, your account could be displayed in the Duome page. You can tell it not to be published by adding the line DUOME-PRIVATE to your full name.
More details at https://duome.eu/privacy

My profile isn't public at the moment, but it will be by the weekend.

I have a Duome page. But, as I said above, I'm currently in private mode so I assume it would not be updating.

Is this your Duome account? I think so.
As I suggested, it doesn't matter if your profile is public or private, Duome will show your account most of the time. Maybe, in the future, because Duolingo changes its codes or Duome decides, only public profiles will be shown, I don't know.
And this was the situation 2 years ago, if I'm not mistaken. But after a certain moment, private profiles were shown on Duome. The direct link to your Duolingo profile shows ERROR 404, btw.

@eI000yo, I'm aware that my profile is visible even when I'm in private mode. But it seems to get stuck on whichever language my Duolingo was set to when I switched to private mode. I've been switching back and forth between public and private lately.

I'm not sure what you mean when you say the direct link to my profile shows Error 404, though. I don't get an error, I am able to get to it directly from a link consisting of https://duome.eu/Username.

@JudieLC

Your Duolingo profile is at https://www.duolingo.com/profile/JudieLC.
Even if it is private, you, and only you, can see it if your browser is logged in to that account. But if a non-logged browser visits the link it will show an ERROR.
If I visit the Atervanda's Duome, a well-known member and moderator of Duolingo, I can see his/her current data: https://duome.eu/Atervanda but most likely his/her profile is private because https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Atervanda also shows an error.
How Duome works and Duolingo works is partly a mystery. Sometimes Duome only shows cached data. I remember that the times an account can access to the Duolingo data are limited.
But according with the image you have had at least a 150-day streak in the past. Duolingo will save your data automaticlly in the future, but perhaps only once a year. But you can force an update by visiting your Duome page. Visiting the …/progress link, in your case https://duome.eu/JudieLC/progress, will update your actual active course.
