Request for links opening a new tab

Post by Corinnebelle »

I'm so happy to be able to use the Duome tree for my lessons now that we have the one path. One thing I was wondering is if when duome gets time if they could make it so clicking on the skills opened in a new tab instead of in that tab.

I am also wondering what those read dots mean as opposed to the black dots under skills.

I don't know if things like letters, strengthen and checkpoint practice could also be included?

If you right-click instead of left click, you can open in a new tab (just choose "open link in a new tab" on the pop-up menu).

or (even better) click it with the mouse wheel :)

duome Thanks for making the links open in a new page! :) I notice the page updates in realtime too. All I need to do is refresh and it shows which dots I just did.

The dots are now slightly bigger and clickable - taking you right to the corresponding lesson at www-internal

Skill icons are taking you to the same skill but new layout; sometimes the practice sessions you get would be identical, like these two links, I suppose, should give you the same lesson:

https://www-internal.duolingo.com/skill/ar/Alphabet-2/1
https://www.duolingo.com/skill/ar/Alphabet-2/1

Yet there can be no levels higher than 3, so I get:

https://www-internal.duolingo.com/skill/ar/Alphabet-3/5 - for the old layout, but
https://www.duolingo.com/skill/ar/Alphabet-3/2 - for the new layout

Hi duome
1) If you have any L6 skills below than the dot does not take you to the corresponding lesson, but rather to the previous non L6 skill lesson. Also if you did a dot on a skill above it will show as active on the L6 skill below too :(

It is a bit confusing bug\ feature

2) In the tree tab, on L6 skill the crown links it practice and the skill icon links to legendary test, however in the skills tab both the crown and the skill icon go to practice. Can you make links to behave in the same way as on tree tab ?
PS practice session can be initiate on any Level skill by adding /practice to the end of the web link

1) fixed
2) would you rather have a link to a practice session from the crown or from the skill icon? I feel like the links should probably be swapped..

It depends if you will enable practice for NON L6 skills or not :)
If Not, than swapping makes sense
otherwise
I think that crown should link to practice, and skill to normal lesson. It just happens that for L6 skill a normal lesson is a crown test
