But "sag nichts bitte" is not commonly said in German. It sounds a bit twisted
Native / using / learning / once learnt / trying to understand at least a bit
It's also possible to say "Bitte sag nichts." "Sag nichts, bitte" is correct with the comma, which corresponds to a short break before "bitte" in spoken language.

I guess that's a local thing then, depending on which part of Germany you're in? I think I keep on hearing it every once and then, usually in situations when the speaker is anticipating that someone will make a remark that he/she doesn't really want to hear.
"Sag nichts, bitte. Ich weiß ja dass du es nicht magst, wenn ich die ganze Nacht unterwegs bin."
Or in poetry:
Sag nichts, bitte
Ich sehe in deinen Augen
Es ist zu spät, vorbei
Sag nichts, ich bitte dich
Well, it's not a local thing, it has to do with emphasis. With bitte at the end (after a comma or a pause), the request becomes more insistent.
