I believe this lesson in the new tree is set up give the same 18 questions every time for every one. I base that on doing this practice skill twice but that's enough of a duck test for me. (Test du canard en français -- but I think it's an American saying from the McCarthy era.)
I was wondering if someone could try practicing lesson 51.1 and see if you get the 18 questions below. It's the first iteration of the old grammar skill 4.12 past tense 2. If you know the vandertramp verbs it should take less than 5 mins. It requires forming the passe composé for mostly vandertramp verbs and a few avoirs.
I don't believe this ever happened in the old tree. I don't like it either. I think it's a duo shortcut.
