Extreme XP points?

When I look at my leaderboard competitors on duome I see people are earning 60, 80, 90 and 120 XP/lesson on every lesson. How and where is this possible? What am I missing? Last week the guy I scraped out my #1 on was earning 2000xp/day and none of it was lessons according to duome. He was doing 80xp stories/checkpoints for an hour and then was golden. This week I see this gal doing 60 & 120 XP sessions. Anyone have an understanding and can explain what I'm missing?

Lately DL is marking nearly all lessons as "stories / challenges / checkpoints / etc.". This is another deterioration of the statistics quality.
Whenever I learn on the path, lessons are marked as such, though they usually are rewarded only 15 XP (I use the website version).

The app grants you extras (doubles, quadruples) within certain timeframes and after a flawless lesson.
Somewhere on the path I also get 40XP for some roundup exercise at the end of a unit. Double or triple this on suitable moments / after flawless lessons and you get those super-marks. In my opinion this is only feasible if you are repeating lessons far beneath your language level (for example after resetting and restarting the course).

With that number of points, aren't also the timed challenges on the app an option? I tried these once, but they just raised my blood pressure and I decided they weren't worth my time. The 60 XP as a default and 120 XP would be double points for 15 minutes, for example as a reward for doing a lesson in the morning, that gives app users 15 minutes extra XP. You can also get double XP for 15 minutes after leveling up on the app, but that user clearly isn't doing that.

What are you missing? That your focus is on XP rather than on learning. There's nothing inherently wrong with that as long as you're clear on that point. If your goal is diversion, then carry on. If your goal is language learning, you might want to reexamine your priorities.

The time stamps on these lessons are 3-1/2 to 5 minutes apart. Challenges usually don't take that long.

They look like legendary practice lessons from the old tree. Some languages used to give 50-55-60 XP as base points for these lessons. I've seen that for Russian to English, English to Portuguese, Spanish to English. Double XP make them 100-110-120.
