Dzień dobry . Jem ciasteczka. PA pa.

I did 5 or 6 lessons in Polish today !

🙂

I was told I am getting the new path in 3 weeks.
I probably won’t be using Duolingo anymore if its too zig zaggy.

It looks like the pattern is not good for the eyes.

Plus, I heard it will wipe out your progress and push you forward .( lose so much learning ) if you are down further in your tree. I will lose a lot of French learning that way.

Have no idea what they will do to my other trees.

I like my Duolingo just the way it is!

Tak, to bardzo łatwe zdanie do zrozumienia, bo są tu podobnie brzmiące słowa! :)

Duolingo just gave me the word "ciemny".
I try to keep it in mind by the association "chimney". If you crawl into a chimney you get "ciemny".

The words „ciemny”, „cień” are distantly related to the name of the river “Thames”, as well as Latin “tenebra”, French “ténèbres” etc.

A very useful Polish word is "wihajster" (= "wie heißt er"). It is used for a mechanical device whose name you do not know or do not recall. Sort of a placeholder for anything. A "dynks" (Dings) has even a broader meaning. Every wihajster is a dynks.

Chimney fits really well :D
Reminds me of Oliver Twist. Chimneys were really dark back then.

Ciemny - not to be confused with dzienny (见你)

Cytat = Zitat (quote)

Again a word German and Polish have in common

And another word I recognise at once (because @Dana_Dany Danuta uses it quite often in the chat):

Myślę = I think

Yes, it's true, because I am a thinker! & Tak, to prawda, bo ja jestem myślicielką! hehe

Frequent use (reading) of some word causes that it quickly sinks into our memory and we remember it easily! :)

Going along that "Cy" path:

Cytryna = Zitrone (also used for small Citroën cars)
Cytra (I bet you'll never need it :-) ) = Zither
Cyfra = Ziffer
Cysterna = Zisterne

one more:
Cyrkiel ~ Zirkel (but only in the meaning "tool to draw circles"!, circle as a shape is "okrąg")

This is also a good example to show how German words are transformed to sound more natural in Polish:
German "zi" goes to "cy" and "ke" or "ge" go into "kie" or "gie" respectively.

In all these examples the gramatical gender is the same in Polish and in German.
