Good game, thanks.
And I learnt something, too. I don't know what I would have expected Canadian Aboriginal to look like, but I would never have guessed that it looked like that. If anything, if it had been an option, I would have guessed at Korean for that one!
Interesting artlicle about Canadian Aboriginal...

There are many languages in the hard mode I've never ever hear of. I knew there are about 6000 languages in the world, but this game really puts things into perspective. There are so many unknown things that one can't help but feel small and humble before the immensity.

I got many correct by just knowing that it can't be any of the other languages

Turkish kicked me up good there, it sounds similar to Russian! I went more by the accents than the words, but sometimes that didn't work. I learnt some new language names and script names.

The first sequences went straight forward. It gets more tedious as soon as six or more languages are included. No errors for European languages, but I 've mistaken Chinese for Japanese or the inverse.

To distinguish Occitan from Catalan, I needed listening twice (even though I understood some sentences.) - Almost impossible to pick the correct language out of a set of six I had never listened to.

Guess the language with Steve Kaufmann.
Without any multiple choice help...
It helps if you happen to know which languages Steve Kaufmann speaks...
... though I still mix up languages from the same 'family'.

It's not too hard to recognize some of the scripts in the alphabet, wonder how many people can read them?

I gave a listen and it's kind of fun. I did pretty well on the easiest level but I don't finish through to a score because it's late and I have to go to bed. Maybe another day.
So I just tried this game again. I got 1000 on the beginner audio level. I mixed up Chinese and Hindi. I find I go as much by the cadence of the speech as by the words and pronounciation.
The alphabet part was interesting. I saw some alphabets I am totally unfamiliar with.
Apparently, I know nothing! I had not heard of most of these languages, and had no clue what country they were spoken in. This is NOT a great boost for my ego.
