If you look at Israeli books from even 25 years ago the ketiv male spelling wasn't used consistently but it is much more being used now and will presumably be even more in the future as kids who were taught it in school become adult writers. (We wont discuss הייתה היתה for third person past tense of "to be" which the Israeli press can't agree on....)
