Seeking Child's Readers in Irish

Post by Saoirse »

I'd like to improve my Irish by reading children's short stories written in Irish. Can anyone suggest any place I may find these items or even children's websites specifically aimed at reading?

Go raibh maith agat.

This link doesn’t have very many stories, but it’s what I could find.

https://www.librariesireland.ie/service ... ens-ebooks

If you make a free account with archive.org, you can read some of these Irish stories…

https://archive.org/search.php?query=Ch ... er:"Irish"

Here are some more stories in Irish:

Learning: Italian and Arabic.

heck, with Archive.org some things you can download without an account. Or at least I think you used to. But, yeh, registering is free. And you can check stuff out with the online library loan for an hour at a time.

It depends on how old the books are to whether they are in the public domain or not.

I was looking at this children's book that you are teaching with AusShoshana and all the break down of language that you did for it.

I think you are way more advanced in Irish than me!

I can't do that detailed analysis!

All the best!
