Flags to help forum navigation

Is their a way that we can include flags to represent languages ?

To use them, for example, within discussions ? In posts such as this ?

Maybe also to gradually make our forum navigation by images - instead of words. Thus making them more navigatable regardless of what your native language is.

Perhaps - if they are used as labels to identify our forums, that if you hover your mouse over them, that they have pop text. Being in the menu that is. Not within a discussion.

For Duolingo, they use/used symbols such as :

I am intending to put up a post that will list all the flags I have "copied" and hosted on imgur.

But - perhaps there is a better work around than this ?

I agree. Images and icons would make navigation more pleasant, especially for new visitors.

It looks better with the flags, but I think it's no needed the "subflag" meaning "from"

I think @MatOzone suggestion looks really good in the general discussion.

But maybe the "Language Discussion" section can be helped by a "from" flag . Maybe a "from" flag can be used in top row for each section, something like this:

Or maybe the little bubble to the left is a flag instead?

And why American flag instead of Australian?

I also prefer pictograms instead of a long text, but then we'll have unnecessary issues about flags (why this one instead of that one etc.).

Can Belarusians please get another flag or a choice of the flags? Many of us hate the green-and-red one, because it's the symbol of dictator Lukashenka, and we use the white-red-white one instead:

That is our symbol of protesting against dictatorship and Lukashenka's crimes. That is the flag of our legal president Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya.

(As you can see, choosing between the green-and-red flag and that of Poland, I took the latter.)
