Switzerland to adopt old Egyptian as official language

Post by PtolemysXX »

In a recent referendum 66.6% of the Swiss population voted for replacing Latin as lingua franca with ancient Egyptian. It has been recognized that Latin gives an undue advantage to native speakers of romance languages in the country. In contrast, Egyptian as not related to any official languages in Switzerland will not favor any part of the population.

The Swiss parliament has already approved the required laws.

In the first step the parliament house in Bern has been repainted and the old inscription in Latin removed.

The decision met with sporadic negative feedback.

What remains is to translate the entire documentation into Egyptian. To complete this task on time the government is currently urgently looking for translators. A special visa and permanent residency plan has been established to encourage the most talented translators to relocate.

A very wise decision by the Swiss - keeping their independence in all situations.
Not surprisingly this was all made official on April 1st which is the namesday of St Mary of Egypt.

April 1 is the feast of a little-known saint whose story demonstrates the power of the Church as the home of forgiveness, redemption and mercy. St. Mary of Egypt was a prostitute for 17 years before she received the Eucharist and chose the life of a hermit.

Unfortunately, this is not entirely true. That area of the building on the picture was originally empty.
So it was evident to have Egyptian craftmen use that space for the Egyptian name.

Also untrue is that is has been painted. It was carved, sculptured in the facade stone, which coincidently is from the same material as used in ancient Egyptian pyramids. Since the new Museum in Caïro is ready, many skilled craftsmen were looking for a new project. So they were easy to find and cheap because all wanted the job, which, like other salaries in Switzerland, pays almost double as compared to other West-European countries.

Furthermore, these craftsmen were offered an anonymous bank account at UBS with headquarters in Basel, bank renown some time ago for its scandals and financial fraude. But the Swiss government did all possible to put the lid on all rumours, based on Swiss laws for anonymity in all bank transactions. so the UBS was "forgiven" and all black money was legalized.

So… does that mean the taxation system is going pyramid-style too?
