The best thing about stories (and how they're done in the backend) is how easy it would be to make a fully functional adaptation of any strory for any other language, even those not included in Duolingo, or build our own completely new stories in the same manner.
The initial set of 10000+ stories from currently available language pairs took slightly more than a week to be added - that is one story per minute / 1440 stores a day / a bit more than 10K stories in a bit more than a week.
For older stories currently missing in our courses you need to know the original links if hopefully they were recorded by someone somewhere.
Adding a story to duome is as simple as replacing duolingo.com with duome.eu in the original link, then copy and paste it into your browser and let duome take care of everything else - it's totally automated.
