Unlike most people I have found the streak feature to be a deterrent to using Duolingo. We have a family subscription so I would like to continue to use it but recently have found that when the app asks me to commit to a streak I will quit the app instead.
For me, to be told what I must do or to be made to feel guilty by an app is abhorrent. I have replaced the Duolingo app icon so I don't have to see its unhappy or angry face.
Can you make participation in the use of streaks optional please? Also many of the "gamified" features are not useful to me and to be able to turn them off would be appreciated. I understand that most people do find these features worthwhile but I am sure I am not alone in just finding then annoying.
