Decoding announcements in Swedish can be hard at times. Where all other words are elementary, the word elsuven got my attention. One tries to find the root word, identify the known potential suffixes, and then there are things that one has to discover one way or another.

EL in Swedish is short for anything related to electricity. -EN is most probably the definite form of the noun.
Remains suv as the noun. But one would expect uppercase for an abbreviation, but indeed not here.

So elsuven means "the electric SUV"

I wonder, other abbreviations such as TV or TV:n (that's the notation for "the TV") keep the uppercase, so why not in compound nouns like elsuven? Could it also be el-SUV:n ???

Hopefully the swedish and danish natives will correct me if I'm wrong here on assuming it's similar here, but in "scandi" we don't really call SUV's by capital letters. We say "suvv" with small letters, because saying S U V would take too much time. TV is short enough to get away with it (teve) compared to television/televisjon or the more oldfashioned "fjernsyn" used in Norway, from the german roots "fernsehen". My (step)grandfather always called the TV for "fjernsyn/fjernsynet" but my grandmother who was younger adopted using TV as us grandkids insisted it sounded more normal.

Swedish seems to normalise some compound words like this more than norwegian does. As you suggest ""el-SUVen" would proably be the default in norwegian, whereas swedish just makes it all into a new thing.
