This tune randomly slotted itself into my head from somewhere a couple of days ago and ended up an earworm. It's actually quite romantic, a bit of a ballad...

I like music and I often listen to songs in different languages.
Let me tell you, this is a fun and good way to learn a language! What do you think about it and do you like learning languages with music?
... you can read more about it here:
How music can help you learn a language

Listening to music in different languages is a great way to pick up new words and improve pronunciation! Songs make learning fun and help with memory retention.
When I hear a song, I often go looking who else covered it.
So I discovered and use this database:
https://secondhandsongs.com/work/199246 ... nav-entity
In the top ten most covered are 3 from The Beatles. Not surprisingly, as they have always nice melodies and nice lyrics (and often special arrangements with unusual instruments or objects making unusual sounds)
With a given title, list the "original", and tabs for "Highlights", "Versions" = COVERS, and eventual "adaptations".
On the Highlights tab, there is a random pick "I am feeling lucky".
On the covers page, search your favorite artiest, and wonder, be amazed if (s)he ever covered the song.
Most covered, unofficially, seems to be "Summertime" from George Gershwin.
But officially, according to the Guinness Book of Records, it's "Yesterday" from The Beatles
One of my favorites, and covered a lot as well, is "While my guitar gently weeps" (George Harrison / Beatles)
337 covers in this database (not exhaustive)
Under the highlights this one by ToTo
Another favorite is "Cry Me a River" with a series of very special covers, 731 covers.
The contrast can't be bigger than between these

Hello Everyone!
I think a little classical music won't hurt, because today is the First Day of Spring!

Thanks. It doesn’t hurt , but I find it a bit too soft to embody the essence of "Spring."
Shouldn’t Spring feel like a vibrant explosion of "retarded energy"? like a burst of delayed, pent-up energy?"
The original title, "Mariage d'Amour," fits somewhat better, though even that doesn’t feel entirely perfect,
don’t you think? (It’s by Paul de Senneville, who’s also known for "Ballade pour Adeline.")
That said, the piano tone brings back memories of a name I’d almost forgotten: Richard Clayderman.

I saw exactly that, just yesterday.
A youngish mother, walking in the spring sunshine. Unhurried and relaxed, obviously enjoying the warm sunlight on her face, but with a definite sense of purpose and direction about her - walking a straight diagonal line across the playing field. So purposeful and direction...er ..ful, in fact, I would have bet a fiver that she was heading to the library I'd just left, to install her children in whatever noisy fun thing was going on in the kids' section for a bit while she browsed the "New In"s.
Her two kids, on the other hand, were absolutely fizzing with that joyful pent-up energy you mentioned (and whatever vitamins and sugar they'd just scoffed in their breakfast cereal). They were literally running round in circles, or wild loops, like erratic satellites - out of close control but generally still orbiting their mother.
It was beautiful and reassuring to watch. No matter how mental the world can seem sometimes, and whatever lunatics end up in charge of it for a while, kids are still kids. There is still hope for us all.

I was in love with this song 25 years ago, and it's even more adorable in this new rendition:
Absolutely! Whether you're heartbroken, hyped, healing, or just vibing — music always understands the assignment.

Your description of those energized kids is delightful!
Something light and enchanting
On Hearing the First Cuckoo in Spring.
For my aunt, who passed just recently in Louisiana. Thinking about all those summers, everything she taught me, all the memories we made;
I reckon she's taken more than enough flak recently for being a bit overdramatic and, er, well, for basically being a pop star acting like a pop star. But on the plus side, one of those scathing articles mentioned this tune, and reminded me that I liked it and how catchy it is.
Enjoy...

Cannot share the links to performances, but we've had a WW2 songs festival a week ago and the winners were vocalists from the USA and China. Deborah Bowman, Yang Yujie, Zeng Zhao.
