@Hossein Afrakhte Hi,

The first part of today's conference was about the radio and adventure lessons. We have them in French, on the app. In fact, they made a big change a few days ago by putting radio lessons in every skill, even the later ones. There's a discussion (well, mostly one-sided) on this in the Duome French forum.

Not a peep about plans for C1 material for any courses. That's coming When Donkeys Fly. They're working on trying to get people to B2 in all facets of language proficiency evaluation by focusing efforts on Speaking and Oral Comprehension. They have to digest and evaluate their recent changes too - and I think it would make more sense and cents to bring more languages to B2 besides Spanish, France, and English after that.

I wasn't too interested in the math and music segments. They can't count the number of followers and followings in the app so why would I care what they have to say about Math?

They're always advertising new stuff, but I still don't have access to the math and music courses they announced a year ago... 🙄

They announced that math & music courses are available on the app at DuoCon. Unless your one of those guys who screw around with versions, you ought to have it by hitting the flag in the upper left on the app. I got them recently, maybe on Monday.

Something new for language learners are the video calls with Lily:

https://blog.duolingo.com/video-call/

This feature goes into developing real active speaking skills. As explained in the blog the new function has some restrictions:

  • Max subscribers only

  • only on iOS

  • available for English, Spanish and French (with an extension to Portuguese, Italian and German coming next)

It would be great if someone with access to that feature could share their experiences here.

Evan Edinger, a youtube influencer, came out with a video about video call & a few other features. I'm not sure if he understands it's a premium feature, but he does show how it works, more than how Duo did at DuoCon. It's in the path.
