En lisant le mot "taches de rousseur" en français, j'ai réfléchi au mot allemand "Sommersprossen":

Sommer = été
Sprossen = germes (d'une plante)

En fait, je pensais surtout aux personnes qui ont des taches de rousseur toute l'année.
Mais certaines personnes n'ont ces taches qu'en été. Elles ne poussent donc qu'en été ==> Sommer-Sprossen (les germes d'été)

I have always considered the German word for freckles somewhat weird. Red hair and freckles are defining features of the Irish side of my family. Summer has absolutely nothing to do with either. The French description is more accurate but long-winded. English, for once, has the most precise and accurate word: freckles.
