Any chance of Te Reo Maori being on Duolingo anytime soon?

Re: Te Reo Maori
Actually nobody here can answer this question! It's Duome and not run by Duolingo. So, it's wait & see for all of us.
Anyway, hope you enjoy the forum....

Sigh,
Estimated launch: 2/21/21
And that date has passed.
You might like to check out :
viewtopic.php?p=48571-i-want-x-language#p48571
And - it looks like languages not yet released are now all on hold - indefinitely.
However - lets use this to talk about other resources that are out there that can assist the learning of Māori from English.
To create a post - and hopefully many posts in the forum here for :
viewforum.php?f=100-languages-not-yet-covered
Does anyone have any suggestions ?

https://languagedrops.com/language/learn-maori : again - there is also a "premium" / paid service here
Also - can we start to make resources here ?

Re: Te Reo Maori
I would like to add something about Drops... If you use it for free, you frequently get offered an annual subscription, I never accepted this offer and after awhile I got lifetime subscription for all languages offered. Annual subscription was 39,95€, lifetime 41,95€, so if you consider subscribing, don't take the first offer.

Re: Te Reo Maori
I wonder if anyone knows / would like to reach out to those that contributed to the course ?
i.e.
kerejenner
JonpaulYC
moko.tepan
michaelfla4
I add this image, incase this is removed by Duolingo. And the images may assist someone in locating these people, and perhaps reach out to them. And perhaps - if interested, they may be interested in being part of continueing to develop resources that could assist learning Te Reo Māori.
Or - perhaps inspire others to do so.

Re: Te Reo Maori
I've heard that there was some resistance from Maori in NZ because their language is such an important part of the culture. In putting te reo on Duolingo they are giving an overseas company some degree of ownership over the language. Although I believe that having Maori on Duolingo would be a huge boost for the language, Maori have lost so much through foreign influence that I understand the hesitation and am happy to use NZ made apps instead.
