Can this also be "The dogs lose the road"?

I think so... What's the difference between "way" and "road"?

I had an equally subtle difference between 'big trees' and 'tall trees' in the Turkish course. It probably makes sense if you are green and live in trees. For me not so much.
Sorry I was being cheeky!
Definition for:
Way
A road, path, or highway affording passage from one place to another.
An opening affording passage.
Space to proceed.
Road
An open, generally public way for the passage of vehicles, people, and animals.
The surface of a road; a roadbed.
A course or path.

I suppose there might be some technical differences. Way can be more metaphorical at times for example way of life. But I know דרך means both road and way.
Dogs aren't likely to lose the road, but anything can happen!
