Quite a stretch from humid, moist and damp to wet!

  • humid = containing extremely small drops of water in the air (of air and weather conditions); containing or characterized by perceptible moisture especially to the point of being oppressive (synonym: damp)
    – New York is very hot and humid in the summer
    – it was a humid, rainy day
  • moist = slightly wet, especially in a good way; characterized by high humidity (of the air); something that is moist is slightly wet (synonym: damp)
    – keep the soil in the pot moist, but not too wet
    – fog is formed when warm moist air moves over a cold surface
  • damp = slightly wet, especially in a way that is not pleasant or comfortable; slightly or moderately wet; something that is damp is slightly wet (synonym: humid)
    – the room was damp and smelly
    – put those damp clothes in the tumble dryer
  • wet = covered in water or another liquid; covered with, or soaked with liquid (such as water); wet weather (rainy); something that is damp is slightly wet (synonyms: soaked, drenched)
    – a wet umbrella
    – a notice saying "Wet paint!"

This seems to be the case also in Portuguese.

dictionary.cambridge.org says:

  • ligeiramente molhado
    – uma roupa úmida

  • impregnado de líquido
    – um solo úmido

  • relativo à quantidade de vapor de água presente na atmosfera
    – ar úmido

úmido (adjective)

damp [adjective] slightly wet
humid [adjective] damp
moist [adjective] damp; slightly wet

The same at dicio.com.br and dicionario.priberam.org. Only collinsdictionary.com lists "wet" as a first definition.

The correct translation of "wet" is molhado:

  • coberto de água
    – Cuidado! O chão está molhado!

While some dictionaries list "wet" as a synonym of humid, moist or damp, it is not a synonym, but a related word, and it should be classified as so.
