Yes I noticed that early on. Regular cleaning is needed on both my machines and is a good tip to pass on.
I have also seen that happen. I suffer with Mom/mum, Color/colour etc . When you add in another language it gets a little harder. Top it off with slight dyslexia and it's enough to turn you mad. Some nights I dream of that green chicken being chased by an hungry fox.

I turned my Friends Quest off. I don't suppose anyone will notice. Someone mentioned the boost again. I know I have sent several to different friends but can't ever recall receiving one. Never been sent a nudge either.
In Ukrainian я лікар would be " I am a doctor " . Not all languages can be translated word for word. When you have got your head around that it becomes easier. It makes you realise that your own language has a lot of words that it doesn't need.

Always useful to know local idioms. They might not make you seem like a native but could stop you from feeling like a fool.
When thinking of the future and technologies doing everything for us I remember the fill Wally. All the humans are over weight and laid on video gaming chairs. I thank the Lord I have an active life. I worry my brain will go before my body does. That is my main reason for studying languages.
I think they are useful for speeding up my retrieval of stored words. They are in my head somewhere but at times I forget.
This is not a language thing because it happens in English as well
It makes me wonder if this is programmers competing with each other rather than working together.
