The newer versions of Edge have Chromium has the underlying base.
AFAIK / I heard that Chromium doesn't fully implement that "Web Speech Api".

Immediate failure of speaking exercises like it has been reported for 1-2 years or maybe even 3 years ago usually are a result of this issue ...

Isn't Korean an Ex-volunteer contributor course?
Has staff aligned it with their new CEFR curriculum yet? Only 1-2 of the first sections?

Do you see a dedicated "characters tab" on the mobile app or the Web?
I have one for Chinese on the Web, for Japanese on the old Android app as well.

Nicht jeder Benutzer ist in der Experiment Gruppe (sondern Control).

Die breite Masse an Benutzern bekommt die neuen Kursversionen normalerweise erst viel später.

Mach doch einfach mit dem ultra-langen EN->ES Kurs weiter (8 Sektionen, B2).

Sounds like you're using the wrong browser:
Speaking exercises only work on Google Chrome.

AFAIK this is the only browser which has fully implemented the "Web Speech API".
Edge/Chromium and Firefox don't.
