Your duolingo forum registration isn't automaticaly transferred to duome forum so in order to join duome forums you need to register with your existing or any other username and email; in any case it's advised that you choose a new password for the forum.

I find it really terrible. I was half way through module 3 in French and I had a plan to complete unit 6 by the summer next year. In unit 4 I knew the past tense was coming.
