MSA vs Classical

What exactly is the difference between these 2 languages? Are they completely different, or is MSA just a slightly evolved classical Arabic? If you were to learn one, would you be able to understand the other?

If you were able to complete all levels to legendary on Duolingo, Finish all stories, and listen to all podcasts, about how much of the language would you be able to understand?
