Pedig gives more emphasis to the contrast and if you omit it, it my native ears miss it, somehow it doesn't sound well.

It has a different meaning and not even a full sentence like this: if you write úgy jó, we would still wait for something that you continue how is it good. Ez az az étterem, ami úgy jó, hogy este megyünk? E.g. And btw I think it should be amely instead of ami, because ami should point to a half sent...

Because in your second sentence between () there is one word missing: sem. It would be correct like this: senki sincs az egyik gyárban sem

You are right, that should be az in literal translation, but Hungarian language works with different logic: if we say az szomorú, we would think that you mean azok (e.g. in plural), a kóreai turisták, while the English sentence means that the whole situation is sad, so in Hungarian we express it lik...

It would mean in English - everything is black - including the houses around them etc.
Like in English there is also a difference between all or everything and each.
