Re: Crown counter is frozen

I've been having a similar problem ever since the change to the snake system, only XPs and 1-to-25-levels keep progressing, crowns and 1blue-to-6purple-levels are stuck. I still see others getting "X learned English from Tagalog" (but with 0 crowns!) and "X's tree is golden", bu...

Re: Mapping Tree to Snake

All I can say is that I am happy with the snake, but you progress faster in the course with the tree, and there are no levels with the snake. So if you enjoy leveling up or collecting golden trees stay with the tree. If like me you are a boring follow-the-herd laborious petty accountant type of unde...

Using www-internal.duolingo.com/learn might alleviate the problem.

Re: Do you agree with the prioritizing of XPs in the ordering of your languages on your duome user page?

The new one-path system changes everything. Notwithstanding that, given that the size of courses greatly varies (for instance the Chinese course is 4 times longer than the Latin course), it is impossible to form an unbiased picture of the situation by any standard, except maybe looking at the overal...

In German you can say "welche Zimmer haben Sie frei?", even if it's more likely to ask, if there are rooms available (Haben Sie noch Zimmer frei?).

Du, Ihr or Sie ?

Re: How reliable are these translations? (OpenAI translation)

First of all, English "you" is ambiguous, as it can be rendered by 3 pronouns in German: Du, Ihr and Sie, and the context doesn't provide us with information as to which is relevant here. Yiddish is wrong: there is no "available", "you" is wrong. Arabic should be: ما هي...

I think I did it wrong taking each branch to level 5 in one go. But I'm not sure going through the whole tree 5 times from start to finish - including the very basic stuff - would be good either. Maybe the new duo is a better idea...... Just saying..... I am taking the hybrid way: First complete al...

I think not before you are done with L6 tree...

But even with that, in most cases you are still at CEFR B1+...🤣 so it's urgent to move on...

For a given course, some people have reached level 25 since a long time ago and continue to score up to 200k XP or more for the same course.
