there seems to be a pattern on when the stock answers use "enviar", and when "pasar", but I can;'t put my finger on it.

could this, from english, also use the present subjunctive for the second verb?

"sell" in this context would be used for both a recommendation that the sale occur at the time of the recommendation, or that it be something contemporaneous with the question.

The english would be better as, "it would be better for you to glue those broken plates."

This is one of the situations in wheich English does use the subjnctive mood.

"the marine world" is just odd and wouldn't be used.

In english, we might use either "have seen" or "have ever seen", with the latter having a bit more emphasis.

any thoughts on duo's use of the preterite rather than the imperfect here? The "always" suggests ongoing, while the lack of a need to say it anymore suggests completion.

In contexts like, "we always used to go to the candy store", duo pretty consistently uses the imperfect.
