On duolingo the accent is on the α but I've seen some sites where they tell you that it is with the accent on ε. Are they both correct? Which one do Greeks use the most in common speech?
When should I use μητέρα and when should I use μαμά?
Are they completely interchangeable?
Does the average Greek use μαμά in everyday speach?
Also I forgot to ask: how do you use μπάμπας and πατέρας

I recently started learning Greek and I noticed that the majority of female nouns end in -α and a the majority of male nouns end in -ς. Is this just a coincidence or can I use this to my advantage to determine the article of some words?
