Duolingo Swahili - Updated

The Duolingo tree for Swahili has been updated, there are now 4 checkpoints and many more lessons. The tree is still the old format, not the new path.

Kuongea = to speak / talk e.g. unasema kifaransa (you speak French)

Is this use of “unasema” a typo? Sorry in advance if I’m off.

Yes it is, thanks for catching that, I will fix it :D

Re: Kuongea vs Kusema

Kuongea = to speak / talk e.g. unaongea kifaransa (you speak French) Kusema = to say e.g. unaweza kusema hivyo tena? (can you say that again?) In some areas, kusema is only "to say" and you wouldn't use it to talk about speaking a language. Kuongea is commonly used to talk about speaking a...

Anywhere and Nowhere in Swahili

My dictionaries say the anywhere = mahali popote and nowhere = mahali pasipo but in Duolingo, it is leaving the word mahali out. Which is correct or are there certain circumstances where you use each? Thanks

Re: All sentence discussions now read only!

I think we need here SD sub-forums for each course. I suggested that too and I hope it can be done here. Otherwise this wouldn't be necessary if we actually KNEW if the SDs will stay locked forever or it will be just temporarily (I know Kevin said that he's 'fairly certain' that's the case). But th...

Re: Sentence Discussion? No More!

According to KevinR..., this is a temporary thing. The trouble now is... with no more forum, Kevin won't be able to update about this either. This is in the FAQ on Duolingo, I don't think the sentence forums will ever change from read only. "What will happen to Sentence Discussions? Sentence d...

I will keep my streak until I have finished the Swahili tree. I just use it to hold me accountable for studying (and not just in Duolingo).

Noun Class Table

Here is a noun class table that my Swahili teacher gave to me and which I have added to. I hope it helps someone.
