Update: after sending the bug report and waiting for an absurd amount of time (MONTHS!) my duolingo path issue has finally been resolved!
Just goes to show how deleting the duolingo discussion forum might not have been a good idea after all (it never was!)

I'm glad I could help :-) Make sure to visit their website as user-created courses are not viewable if they have not got added there yet. Later they will also show up on the mobile apps when they are in your learning catalog, but they are not searchable!! AFAIK user-created courses should stay free...
