Re: Otobüs ne zaman gidiyor? (en → tr)

Still I would prefer saying "gidiyor" only for duolingo to accept it however I advise for daily conversations or in any other translations 'kalkıyor".

Re: A question on word order

Hi,
As you said Danika, "fazla bir kere" is not correct.
"Bir kere daha" (one more time) or maybe "fazla kere" (more times).
Not "fazla bir kere".

However you can hear in daily usage "daha bir kere..." instead of "bir kere daha"

Otobüs ne zaman kalkıyor? or
Otobüs ne zaman hareket ediyor/edecek? are better.

Re: O, adamla kadının arasında. (en → tr)

Actually punctuation was supposed to be considered. If you say "He (that/it) is between the man and the woman", it means "O, adamla kadın arasında." If we remove the comma and say "O adamla kadın arasında..." then the translation is "Between that man and the woman&...

Re: Roads and streets...

Being numbered or not not does not make a road either "Cadde" or "Sokak". Most of the times the numbers are used for Sokak however there are many Cadde with numbers while many Sokak having names.

Re: Roads and streets...

DUO's translation is the right one actually, Yol and cadde seem to be the same but there are some differences. Cadde means street and Yol means road. "Yol" is the common word for Cadde, Sokak and etc. Cadde is the road in the centrum of a city or a town etc. The roads connecting the cities...

Re: Almak

Seni alıyorum, seni aldım, Ahmet'i aldım. These can be used as "Choose", like while you are going to play a match between friends and each captain of the teams are sellecting one by one; Ali'yi aldım, Veli'yi aldım. Herkesi aldı beni almadı takıma. So in these examples there is nothing abo...

Re: "to develop" in Turkish

It doesnt sound good if you use the verb kalkınmak for human beings. There is no "kalkınmış insan".
However it is fitting for the countries. “Kalkınmış ve kalkınmakta olan ülkeler."
So the translation is supposed to be accepted bye DUO.

Re: Memnun oldum, hoşça kalın! (en → tr)

Hi,

There is a little bit difference between "hoşça kal" and "güle güle".
"güle güle" is being said by the one who is staying and,
"hoşça kal" by the one who is leaving.

So I think Goodbye is also used by someone who is leaving.

Re: Difference between seyahat and yolculuk

Hi Marjan, this is me yes :) Actually there is not much difference between the two.. The answer you gave is also correct but in spoken language. We are all using Yolculuk Yapmak however the correct form is supposed to be Yolculuk Etmek. If Duo still marks it as Wrong, then they have to update their ...

Re: [ARCHIVE] Emir Cümleleri (Imperative Clauses)

Emir kipinin 1. tekil ve 1. çoğul şahıslar için kullanımı yoktur.

I : (Ben) geleyim. ----------- Let me come.
ve
We : (Biz) gelelim. ---------- Let us come.

Bu verilen örnekler emir kipine değil, istek kipine verilmiş örnekler oluyorlar.

Re: Difference between seyahat and yolculuk

Hi Danika, I agree with all your comments only the last one sounds a bit wierd to me. "Duo yolculukta" has no common usage, or let's say that I have not seen anyone using it in that way. Like we say "Ahmet bey nerede? İş seyahatinde." but not "iş yolculuğunda". I can sa...
